This Privacy Policy describes how Quick Draw ("Quick Draw," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with our home automation service, including our integration with the Google Home Developer Platform (the "Service"). By creating an account or linking Quick Draw to a supported integration, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information you provide, such as your email address, display name, and authentication credentials.
- Device information about smart home devices you link to Quick Draw, including device type, model, capabilities, user-assigned names, room assignments, and current state (for example, on/off, brightness, temperature setpoint).
- Command and interaction data, such as commands issued through Quick Draw or linked assistants (e.g., Google Home), the time the command was issued, and whether it succeeded.
- Technical and log data required to operate the Service, such as IP address, session identifiers, and error logs used for security, abuse prevention, and reliability.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information above solely to:
- Authenticate your account and process device commands you initiate;
- Route commands between your linked devices and integrations such as Google Home;
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests;
- Secure the Service, detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or technical issues;
- Operate, maintain, and improve the reliability of the Service.
We limit our use of information obtained through Google Home Developer Platform integrations to the activities described in this policy.
3. What We Do Not Do
We do not:
- Sell your personal information;
- Use your personal information or device data for advertising purposes;
- Use data obtained through any Google-related integration to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models, or any related tools;
- Share your data with third parties for their own marketing.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only with the following categories of parties, and only for the purposes described here:
- Integration partners you choose to link. When you link Quick Draw to Google Home or another supported platform, we exchange the minimum information required to operate the integration (for example, device identifiers, capabilities, and state, and the commands you issue).
- Service providers. We use a limited number of vendors for cloud hosting, email delivery, logging, and customer support. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by applicable law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Quick Draw, our users, or others.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information only for as long as needed for the purposes described above:
- Data received through Google Home Developer Platform integrations (including device state and command data routed via that integration) is retained for a maximum of 10 days from the date we receive it, consistent with Google Home Developer Platform policies, unless a shorter period is required by applicable law.
- Account information is retained while your account is active and deleted within a reasonable period after you close your account, except where we must retain it to meet legal obligations.
6. Security and Sensitive Actions
We protect your information using industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and least-privilege principles. For state-changing actions that affect the physical security of your home — such as unlocking doors or disabling cameras — we require account linking and a secondary user verification (for example, confirmation on a secured mobile device, or a password or PIN) before the action is carried out. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your data and will notify users of material incidents as required by law.
7. Consent
Before Quick Draw accesses your devices or related data through the Google Home Developer Platform, we obtain your explicit consent by having you sign in to your Quick Draw account and complete the account-linking flow. You can revoke that consent at any time by unlinking the integration in your Google Home app or your Quick Draw account settings.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You can at any time:
- Access, correct, or export your account information;
- Disconnect Google Home or any other linked integration;
- Unlink individual devices from Quick Draw;
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
We honor verified deletion requests within a reasonable timeframe. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 12.
9. International Data Transfers
Quick Draw is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers where required by law.
10. Children's Privacy
Quick Draw is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above, and where required by law, we will provide additional notice. This policy will remain publicly accessible and legible to all current and prospective users.
